about

Pilcrow is a mysterious cocktail bar hidden in the basement of Founders Station.  Previously, this space was used to store manual typeset lettering, which inspired the name. A pilcrow in typology is a certain character used for indenting text, existing in the negative space between words. Similarly, the space that houses Pilcrow was found by lifting the first-floor structure a full 24 inches to an occupiable height, quite literally a hidden space between spaces.

Entry  is granted through a marked red door. Behind the door, visitors are greeted with a tall staircase and a mirrored neon vertical sign. Farther down is a conversely horizontal space, framed by a massive corbeled brick footing supporting the four stories above and a wall of steel hieroglyphics branded with the Pilcrow mark.
